About Us
Welcome to Northview Elementary School. Whether you are a family with a student currently attending Northview and are looking for some specific information or whether you are someone who is not familiar with our district and want to learn more about us, we are delighted that you have chosen to visit our website.
About our School
Northview is home to approximately 340 students in Early Childhood through fourth grade. We offer an Early Childhood Program for three to five year olds who have an identified need for special education services. In addition, we offer a half-day, four day a week Junior Kindergarten program for four year olds as well as a full day Senior Kindergarten program for five year olds. We have 47 professional and support staff members who teach, support, and work with our students and parents in a variety of capacities. This caring, dedicated staff is the real "heart" of Northview Elementary School.
We pride ourselves on being a "community school." We have a large number of parent, grandparent, and other community members who volunteer in our school in many different areas. In the evenings and on weekends our building facilities and grounds are used by many community groups for their meetings and activities. A dedicated Parent-Teacher Organization actively plans and supports many special school events.
About Our Curriculum
Many exciting and innovative things are happening at Northview Elementary School. Our students learn through a rigorous, well-articulated instructional curriculum. Literacy - learning to read and write - and math skills are strongly emphasized at all grades. Social Studies, Science, Health, Developmental Guidance, Physical Education, Art, and Music round out the curriculum experiences all students receive. Computer skills are integrated throughout all areas of the curriculum and taught by the classroom teachers as an ongoing part of student learning. The curriculum is constantly being evaluated, updated, and improved. There are after school, evening, and weekend extra curricular opportunities for students provided by community clubs and organizations.
